Appeals Takedown Policy

Appeals & Takedown Policy

Last Updated: June 29, 2026

1. Purpose

This Appeals & Takedown Policy explains how individuals may request removal of content from ad18.ca ("AD18," "the Platform," "we," "us," or "our") and how appeals are handled.

This Policy applies to users, posters, visitors, and individuals depicted in or affected by content posted on the Platform.

This Policy supplements the AD18 Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, Privacy Policy, ID Verification Policy, and other policies referenced on the Platform.

2. When You May Submit a Takedown Request

You may submit a takedown request if you believe content on AD18:

  • Depicts you without your consent
  • Uses your image, name, identity, likeness, or personal information without authorization
  • Impersonates you
  • Contains stolen, leaked, copied, or unauthorized images
  • Violates your privacy, intellectual property, or legal rights
  • Involves minors, exploitation, trafficking, coercion, abuse, or non-consensual activity
  • Violates AD18's Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, or other Platform rules

3. How to Submit a Takedown Request

Takedown requests should be sent to:

AD18 Support support@ad18.ca

Please include as much of the following as possible:

  • A link or screenshot identifying the content
  • The ad title or username, if available
  • A clear description of the issue
  • Whether you are the person depicted, the rights owner, an authorized representative, or another affected party
  • Supporting evidence, if available
  • Contact information where we can respond
  • Any urgent safety concerns

If you are requesting removal because you are depicted in the content, AD18 may request reasonable proof of identity to confirm the request.

Do not send unnecessary sensitive documents unless requested. Where possible, sensitive information may be redacted before submission, provided we can still verify the request.

4. Urgent Safety Requests

Requests involving minors, exploitation, trafficking, coercion, credible threats, imminent harm, non-consensual content, or serious safety concerns may be prioritized.

AD18 may remove or temporarily disable content immediately while the request is reviewed.

AD18 may preserve records, restrict accounts, suspend users, or report serious safety concerns to law enforcement or other appropriate authorities where required or permitted by law.

5. Review Timeline

AD18 aims to review takedown requests within five (5) business days.

Urgent safety matters may be reviewed more quickly.

Complex requests, incomplete requests, identity disputes, ownership disputes, or legal issues may require additional time.

AD18 may request additional information before making a final decision.

6. Possible Outcomes

After review, AD18 may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Remove the content
  • Temporarily disable or hide the content pending further review
  • Restrict, shadowban, suspend, or terminate the account that posted the content
  • Request more information from the requester or poster
  • Preserve records for safety, legal, fraud, or compliance purposes
  • Refer serious matters to law enforcement or another appropriate authority
  • Decline the request if no policy or legal violation is found

Where appropriate, AD18 will communicate the outcome to the requester unless legal, privacy, safety, or operational restrictions prevent disclosure.

7. Poster Notice

Where appropriate, AD18 may notify the poster that their content has been removed, disabled, restricted, or placed under review.

AD18 may limit or withhold details where necessary to protect privacy, safety, investigations, law enforcement cooperation, fraud prevention, or Platform integrity.

8. Appeals by Requesters

If you submitted a takedown request and disagree with the outcome, you may appeal by contacting:

support@ad18.ca

Your appeal should include:

  • The original takedown request reference, if available
  • A clear explanation of why you believe the decision was incorrect
  • Any new or additional evidence
  • Any urgent safety concerns

Where practical, appeals may be reviewed by a different administrator or reviewer.

9. Appeals by Posters

If your content, ad, or account was removed, restricted, suspended, shadowbanned, or otherwise moderated, you may appeal through AD18 support.

Appeals should include:

  • The affected ad or account information
  • A clear explanation of why you believe the decision was incorrect
  • Any supporting evidence
  • Confirmation that the content complies with AD18 policies and applicable law

Appeals must be submitted within seven (7) days of the enforcement action unless AD18 allows additional time at its discretion.

AD18 may approve, deny, partially approve, or request more information.

Final discretion remains with AD18.

10. Neutral Third-Party Review

Where required by payment processor rules, applicable law, or Platform compliance requirements, AD18 may use a neutral third party to review disputes involving consent, identity, ownership, or takedown decisions.

Where AD18 determines that neutral third-party review is required, AD18 will cover the reasonable cost of that review unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing.

11. Abuse of the Takedown or Appeals Process

Users must not submit false, malicious, fraudulent, abusive, or bad-faith takedown requests or appeals.

Abuse of the takedown or appeals process may result in:

  • Denial of the request
  • Account restriction
  • Suspension or permanent ban
  • Preservation of records
  • Referral to legal authorities where appropriate

12. Record Preservation

AD18 may preserve content, account records, payment records, support records, moderation records, audit logs, or related evidence where necessary for:

  • Legal compliance
  • Safety investigations
  • Fraud prevention
  • Payment disputes
  • Law enforcement requests
  • Moderation history
  • Platform enforcement
  • Compliance with processor requirements

Removal of public content does not always mean all internal records are immediately deleted.

13. Changes to This Policy

AD18 may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, Platform operations, payment processor requirements, moderation practices, safety standards, or compliance requirements.

The "Last Updated" date indicates the current version.

Continued use of the Platform after an updated Policy is posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
